Hey,
soooo, I'm in my final year of study, people believe being a writer is easy, you just sit at home all day and write, right? Well actually its alot harder then they think. The genre I chose to do my major work in is young adult ficition. I now have a mentor who is a published author in Australia in said genre. I feel overwhelmed that he wants to work with me and a little scared too. I mean, I'm just a student, yeah I'm published in a journal but not really really published...
So I send him what I have so far which is about 4k words, he sends back his comments about format and all that (indenting paragraphs and dialogue structure) I format it send it to my Lecturer to go over and she says 'hey, before we send it back lets really edit it, really rip it apart' yep I was scared, this was already my 4th draft. so when i collect it from her, i'm kinda weary when i see all the slashes and strokes, the comments in the margins. it would make anyone queasy. but i keep on keepin on. after two days i really made a breakthrough woot woot! i sent it back to my lecterur and she made a few more suggestions. so now its going to my mentor, i'll remain humble and not think i'm the shit. cos well, its nice to know we dont know everything. its good to know we have much to learn and grow from.
i know this year is going to be full on for me, its going to be filled with deadlines and me pulling my hair out --- my protagonist is apparently passive said my lecturer....
so when stress gets the better of me, i turn to another creative artform... MAKE UP hehe.
Makeup is my outlet, makeup gives me a chance to have fun and be creative, makeup is my saviour. I'd just like to vent a little --- I have been a big fan of the Makeup/beauty community on Youtube and its gurus, what i am not a fan of is TROLLS! i dont have any, i'm really just a beginner, but i loathe seeing hatefull inane comments in response to videos that gurus make, especially talented, nice and wonderful people. These trolls, haters and nasty people leave stupid comments that really have no point being written, they ask gurus if they have lives, or if they go outside in dramatic makeup and such. for one thing of course these people have lives! and such lives dont revolve around YT. YT is simply and extention of their profession, a creative outlet, or even to gain skills and learn tips. what right does it gives trolls to question this, and further more what the heck are they doing commenting on something they obviously dont like? Why did they take the time to click a thumbnail, watch an entire video and then think up some inane comment? do they have lives? or do they simply want attention? these people should do the most logical thing -- click off and move on with their own lives.
okay so that was my vent
On other matters, I'm having my first makeup contest for my subbies, hope i get lots of entries, yay fun!
